Gina was born in New Orleans,
and like the gumbo this famous city is known for,
she is quite a mixture. Her heritage is Creole,
made up of the African, Native American and various
European ethnicities. “The question I was asked
most while growing up – and even still today –
is: what are you? I feel like a citizen of the
world, in that almost everyone I meet sees a part
of him or herself reflected in my face because
of my ancestral tapestry.” Due to the tense racial
politics in the South, Gina’s parents relocated
to Los Angeles when she was 6 years old. At age
16, Gina fell deeply in love with dance when she
began to study jazz technique, and performed locally
for several years as a member of a dance company
in Los Angeles. Gina also discovered a passion
for theatre and writing while attending UCLA .
She has also studied yoga, voice, theatre, African
and Brazilian dance, all of which brought her
into deeper relationship with her body, setting
her on a path of self-empowerment and self-discovery.
With her body as teacher and guru, she realized
her path was one of healing.
With all
that in her voudou bag (she is from New Orleans,
after all!), Gina wanted to make a difference
in the lives of other, and to share her life experience
with others. She is a deeply devoted teacher,
healer, dancer, writer, and mother of a ’tween
daughter. She has spent the last 20 years developing
this body of work based on the powerful—often
misunderstood, misrepresented, even despised—
biological cycles of women's lives, through her
own personal journey into self-mastery, and the
idea that women can and do heal themselves. Her
work, which is the alchemical blending of techniques
from every part of the world, teaches self-transformation
through self-empowerment, and the outcome is deep
and beautiful in the areas of self-love, self-respect,
self-esteem, and self-confidence, all through
the powerful medium of the Feminine.
Gina also
has a line of women's lingerie, Wild Nectar, in
development. She is the host of her own very popular
weekly live Internet radio show on www.contacttalkradio.com.
True to her “citizen of the world” status, it
is no wonder that her show is heard in over 150
countries.
Gina has
a 12-year old daughter and lives in Los Angeles
and is deeply committed to her own personal transformation
and to teaching self-empowerment to others in
a way that brings forth each person’s authentic
self, expressed in true beauty and radiating through
the heart.
Do you think of yourself as a “woman”
– or as W.O.M.A.N. – a blend of Goddess and Empowered
Being? "So much of the beauty of who we are
has been lost or exploited by the media,” says
Gina Cloud, whose inspiring talks reconnect woman
and men alike with the mystery that is Woman –
her essence, beauty and truth. Gina coined the
powerful acronym W.O.M.A.N. – Wild, Open, Magical,
Authentically-empowered, Nectar. “It used to be
that women honored themselves, their bodies and
life cycles with traditions passed on through
a community of mothers, grandmothers, aunts, sisters
and cousins,” she explains. “But society has moved
away from honoring the female cycles and rhythms.
We live in a world where everything is dictated
by masculine ideas.”
Gina’s enlightening presentations help women
reclaim their feminine power by exploding the
myths and misinformation put forth by our culture.
She’s also an expert in nutritional rejuvenation,
chemicals in our environment and food supply,
and little-known secrets that restore health and
beauty. And her talks are not just for women.
A presentation for men reveals all they need to
know about women’s issues and how to build intimacy
with the women in their lives, as well as a talk
for “’Tweens” that shows girls how to grow up
with self-esteem and pride in their inherent beauty
as women. You’ll leave Gina’s eye-opening talks
with a deep sense of self-love, self-confidence,
and self-healing rooted in a new understanding
of the powerful medium of the Feminine. Her mantra?
"Beauty is not skin-deep, but soul-deep and
spirit-fed."
Gina Cloud was born in New Orleans, and like its
famous gumbo, she’s quite a mixture. Her Creole
heritage combines African, Native American and
various European ethnicities. “The question I
was asked most while growing up – and even today
– is, “What are you?” she says with a smile, adding
“I feel like a citizen of the world because nearly
everyone I meet sees a part of him or herself
in my face because of my ancestral tapestry.”
Gina’s parents relocated to Los Angeles when she
was 6 years old, and by age 16, Gina was hopelessly
in love with dance and performing with a local
company. At UCLA, she discovered her passion for
theatre and writing, and studied yoga, voice,
African and Brazilian dance as well. With her
body as teacher and guru, she realized her path
was one of healing, and she embarked on a journey
of self-empowerment and self-discovery.
Gina is a frequent talk show guest on women's
issues. She hosts her own live Internet radio
show, “W.O.M.A.N.: A New Definition,” on www.contacttalkradio.com,
heard weekly in 250 countries worldwide (and boasting
over a million downloads!), and she has appeared
on “The Roland Watts Show,” “The Health and Beauty
Revolution,” KPFK (Pacifica radio), Playboy Radio,
The Gregory Mantell Show, and others. Her expertise
is in bringing controvertial issues out and debunking
misinformation, so that women can choose from
an informed place in their lives. She counsels,
is a dancer, a single-mother and a passionate
w.o.m.a.n. determined to create a revolution in
the ideas that define and confine women, personally,
biologically and sociologically. She has a powerful
presence and a profound ability to connect with
people at the heart, inspiring them to be authentically-empowered,
and to love, accept and celebrate themselves.
Gina conducts meaningful rite-of-passage ceremonies
and workshops for girls and women. “The Sacred
Cycle,” a popular 8-week course, shows women how
to be inspiring role models for their daughters
by first clearing their own issues around their
bodies and self-esteem. Her popular workshop and
upcoming DVD, The Goddess in the Girl, brings
the message of the “sacred feminine” to young
girls, age 8-12. Gina is the deeply devoted mother
of a 13-year-old daughter.
Her presentations include:
